International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to tackle the issue of coercive control
To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Committee to Promote and Safeguard Women’s Rights is launching its 2025 campaign, titled "Locking her up is not loving her".
The campaign focuses on violent partners and the strategies they use to exert control over the other person in their relationship.
The Committee is organising two events to explore the issue:
- Lecture by Isabelle Rome on domestic violence, Thursday 20 November – 6.00 pm in the Lycée Rainer III auditorium
A former judge specialising in domestic violence, and later Minister for Gender Equality, Diversity, and Equal Opportunities, Isabelle Rome is well known for her commitment to the cause of women’s rights and eliminating domestic violence.
In this lecture, Isabelle Rome will discuss the different issues and challenges faced in the struggle to eliminate violence against women.

- "Locking her up is not loving her" event, Tuesday 25 November – 6.30 pm in the Lycée Rainer III auditorium
This special event, attended by His Excellency Mr Christophe Mirmand, Minister of State, and Ms Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Chair of the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights, will introduce the new campaign "Locking Her Up Is Not Loving Her" and reveal the results of the video competition for high school students in the Principality.
