Public Car Parks Department

Role

The first department of the Monegasque Administration to obtain dual ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, the Public Car Parks Department ensures, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, the management and operation of the 54 public car parks in the Principality which have been allocated to it by agreement following authorisation by the State, as well as the regulation of tourist coach parking.

In this capacity, it is responsible for:

  • Commercial services and their development, customer relations, including:
    • Welcoming, informing and assisting customers at points of sale and within the facilities
    • Promoting products and services
    • Managing and monitoring subscriptions, from registration to cancellation
    • Developing a pricing policy adapted to the needs of the Principality (for both "hourly" and "subscription" users)
    • Ensuring compliance with the General Terms and Conditions of Sale
    • Managing relations with all users
  • Maintenance and upkeep of public car parks, as well as works relating to compliance of safety installations, excluding those falling under the responsibility of the Public Buildings Department and the State Property Authority, carried out in particular through:
    • Contracting, organising and carrying out technical maintenance of installations
    • Organising improvement and compliance works within the car park facilities
    • Contracting, organising and carrying out cleaning and upkeep of the facilities
  • Operation of the facilities, ensuring in particular: 
    • The proper functioning of their equipment and installations
    • The performance of preventive maintenance
    • Customer compliance with the Internal Regulations in force
    • Monitoring occupancy and optimising the fill rate of facilities on a daily basis
    • Participation in the mobility strategy and sustainable transport initiatives (charging points, traffic flow management, events, etc.)
    • The safety of property and persons within the facilities through the presence of staff and the use of security systems
  • Contributing to the mobility strategy and actions promoting sustainable transport in the Principality through:
    • Defining, in conjunction with the Department of Forward Studies, Urban Planning and Mobility and the Department of Urban Amenities, strategic directions and actions to optimise and improve mobility flows
    • Implementing measures to manage and regulate mobility flows and logistical requirements, in connection with various requests relating to events and functions in the Principality, in coordination with the Ministries, Departments and Services involved
    • The services offered by the Department, including the installation of additional two-wheeler and bicycle zones
    • The deployment and maintenance of charging points located in car parks falling within its area of responsibility

It ensures the implementation of decisions taken by the Prince's Government on all proposals made in accordance with the responsibilities set out above.
