2026 Saint Devota Celebrations: Practical Information for Monday 26 January 2026
Find all practical information about the celebrations for Saint Devota's Day, which will take place on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 January 2026.
As part of preparations for the Saint Devota celebrations on Monday 26 January 2026, a range of traffic and security measures will be put in place. These measures will affect vehicle access and public entry to the areas where the ceremonies are due to take place (including the procession along the Quai des États-Unis/Route de la Piscine, the ceremony at Place Sainte Dévote, and the boat burning ceremony on Quai Albert Ier).
- Access for the public
Security checkpoints will be in place, with members of the public asked to open their bags and containers for inspection, and two public areas will be set up from 5.30 pm:
- One on Place Sainte Dévote for visitors wanting to watch the procession and the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament
- Another at the northern end of Quai Albert Ier for visitors wanting to watch the boat burning ceremony
- Station access
Rail travellers are advised that pedestrian access to the station via the Sainte-Dévote ravine will close from 5.30 pm.
The Sainte-Dévote stairways will also be closed from 5.30 pm.
Passengers should use the Sainte-Dévote tunnel to enter or exit the station via Rue Grimaldi.
- Traffic
From 6.15 pm to 7.00 pm, the Route de la Piscine will be closed between Avenue J.F. Kennedy and the Jules SOCCAL landing stage.
From 6.45 pm to 7.45 pm, there will be traffic closures on Boulevard Albert Ier, Avenue JF Kennedy, and Avenue d’Ostende to allow the events to proceed.
- Transport and parking
There will be some disruption to bus transport, affecting both services within Monaco (lines 1, 2, 3, and 6) and services connecting to other towns locally (“ZOU !” lines 600 and 80), owing to the above traffic closures.
Notices will be displayed on the terminals at the entrance to public car parks, to inform users about access and diversions.
