International Forest Day: (re)discover the forest!

18March 2023
Promoted by Office National des Forêts

On 18 March 2023, the Office National des Forêts (ONF), in partnership with the Principality of Monaco and the municipality of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, is organising a free event, which can be booked online, on the theme of "Good Health and Well-Being", with the aim of raising public awareness of the importance of the forest.
Starting from Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, participants will be able to discover the richness of the natural and cultural heritage of the seaside town to its village perched at an altitude of 225 metres, before reaching Mont-Gros via a hiking trail to admire a breathtaking view of the Principality and the Mediterranean.
During this 1.5 hour walk, ONF agents will introduce participants to the actions implemented thanks to the partnership between the ONF, the municipality of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and the Principality of Monaco set up in 1986, following devastating fires, to protect the forests, their biodiversity and the public's reception via the creation of interpretation trails, connected walks, panoramic viewpoints and the installation of insect hotels.
During this walk, animations on the themes of food in the forest and health in the forest will also be offered to participants.
