Department of Diplomatic and Consular Relations

Role

This Department has the remit of:

  • Monitoring legislation and regulations relating to diplomatic and consular affairs
  • Examining accreditation procedures for Ambassadors and the appointment of foreign Consuls to the Principality of Monaco and relations with these persons
  • Dealing with all cases concerning Ambassadors and Consuls of the Principality abroad and relations with these persons
  • Monitoring Headquarters Agreements with International Organisations having their seat in Monaco and relations with these entities
  • Protocol missions not specifically incumbent upon the competent departments at the Prince's Palace or the Minister of State's Office
  • Assistance and support abroad for Monegasque nationals and the businesses established in the Principality
  • All other work relating to diplomatic or consular issues that may be entrusted to it
