29th European Heritage Days – Routes, Networks And Connections
Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2024.
This year sees the 29th edition of the European Heritage Days, on the theme of "ROUTES, NETWORKS AND CONNECTIONS".
The Principality of Monaco's iconic port has been world-renowned since classical antiquity. The arrival of the railway saw the region grow into a top holiday destination during the Belle Époque. Steeped in history, the Principality remains a vibrant cultural hub.
Through its architectural, artistic and religious heritage, the Principality welcomes visitors to discover the historical footprints that have left an indelible mark on the region. Today, the Principality's cultural heritage is exemplified through artistic creation, technological innovation and scientific knowledge.
These European Heritage Days provide an opportunity to explore the richness and diversity of Monegasque heritage as cultural professionals and associations open their doors and encourage visitors to delve into a journey of discovery.
The Principality has been participating in the European Heritage Days since 1996. Jointly initiated by the Council of Europe and the European Union, this event is now celebrated in over 50 European countries, welcoming almost 30 million visitors each year.
They have been organised since 2018 by the Heritage Institute under the aegis of the Department of Cultural Affairs.
The success of this event hinges on the commitment of its participants. With their involvement, we have, once again, been able to bring you an outstanding programme. We wish to extend our thanks to everyone who makes these events possible.
