29th Monaco European Heritage Days
This year sees the 29th edition of the European Heritage Days, on the theme of "Routes, networks and connections". 14 et 15 September 2024.
The Principality of Monaco's iconic port has been world-renowned since classical antiquity. The arrival of the railway saw the region grow into a top holiday destination during the Belle Époque. Steeped in history, the Principality remains a vibrant cultural hub.
Through its architectural, artistic and religious heritage, the Principality welcomes visitors to discover the historical footprints that have left an indelible mark on the region.
These European Heritage Days allow the public to discover Monaco's rich and diverse heritage as cultural professionals and associations welcome visitors on a journey of discovery across 46 different sites of cultural significance.
The Principality began hosting European Heritage Days in 1996. Initiated jointly by the Council of Europe and the European Union, the event is now celebrated in over 50 European countries and welcomes nearly 30 million visitors each year.
European Heritage Days have been coordinated by the Institute of Heritage since 2018 under the aegis of the Department of Cultural Affairs.
The Principality began hosting the European Heritage Days in 1996. Initiated by the Council of Europe, the event is now celebrated in over 50 European countries that are signatories to the European Cultural Convention. Around 70,000 events are being organised across Europe, with 30 million visitors expected to attend.
