Call for applications for allocation to three artists’ studios located on Quai Antoine I in Monaco

The Department of Cultural Affairs of the Principality of Monaco is launching a call for applications for allocation to three artists’ studios located on Quai Antoine I in Monaco.

  • One studio without  accommodation
  • Two studios with accommodation (the beneficiary must arrange this by their own means)

The programme provides studios where artistic projects can be designed and produced with no set theme or medium.

The workshops are available under an agreement for between one and six consecutive months

The selection committee may decide to extend the duration of the agreement, on a one-off basis, for between one and six consecutive months (the benefiting artist must submit a request for renewal two months prior to the date on which the space is due to be vacated).

These studios will be awarded through a competition.

This competition is open to all artists (the beneficiary will be responsible for any necessary travel or residence permits).

Candidates will be required to submit an application, which will be assessed by a selection committee. The application must include the following documents:

  • The application form, which can be downloaded by clicking here
  • A biography or artistic CV
  • A presentation of works already produced accompanied by a maximum of 5 visuals (dated, commentated, including videos and sound works)
  • Press cuttings if appropriate (maximum 3)

The committee will pay particular attention to projects with an international focus and/or links with a Monegasque cultural institution.

The application must be submitted no later than 31 May 2024,by email to infodac@gouv.mc mentioning "Call for applications - artist's studio - artist's name", or, by registered post with acknowledgement of receipt to the Direction des Affaires Culturelles (4, boulevard des Moulins - 98000 Monaco).

An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent electronically.

All documents must be supplied in hard copy or digital version that can be used without specific software.

Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.

Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of the rules.
