Christmas Village 2023: Rainier III, Passionate Prince
Throughout 2023, the centenary of Prince Rainier III is being celebrated, and Monaco City Hall is organising a Christmas Village on the theme of "Rainier III, Prince Passionate", in the Port of Monaco from Thursday, 7 December 2023 at 4pm.
A Christmas Village in the image of Prince Rainier III
Numerous decorations paying tribute to Prince Rainier III and more particularly, to his many passions: the arts, motor sport, animals and the sea, will take pride of place on the Quai Albert I. The adorned promenade will give visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the Prince's daily life through animated scenes decorated with old photos of the Prince. In addition, three large arches several metres high will welcome the public at the various entrances to the Christmas Village, representing Prince Rainier III's love of sports, the circus and sailing.
As usual, this Christmas Village is sure to delight all ages!
The Village will feature 800 natural Christmas trees, 7 rides including the Giant Ferris Wheel, the toboggan run, the Christmas tree merry-go-round and three new attractions (flying chairs, a children's rollercoaster and Santa's sleigh), all located on the Quai Albert I.
The Christmas Village is all about treats and gifts! With 24 shopping stalls to treat yourself and 19 food stalls to tantalise your taste buds, open every day from 11am.
For entertainment there'll be enchanted parades, mascots, live night-time concerts and stage shows to keep the Christmas Village bustling with activity. In addition, creative workshops for children aged 6 and over (garland making, hanging lights, colouring) will be held every weekend from 2pm to 6pm in the entertainment chalet.
New this year!
Monaco City Hall and the Committee to Commemorate Prince Rainier III are presenting a brand new fountain light show at the Rainier III Outdoor Swimming Stadium.
