On Wednesday 4 December, Mareterra will be officially unveiled by T.S.H. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene alongside their children and other members of the Royal Family.

As the day draws to a close, all those who have helped to bring this new eco-neighbourhood to life, skilled workers, and architects, will gather together one last time to celebrate the end of this successful collaboration and the completion of this extraordinary project.

The evening will feature concerts, drone shows, and firework displays.

While the event is being held exclusively for those directly involved in the project, Monegasques, residents, and visitors will be able to enjoy the action from within the Principality. Like Mareterra, these celebrations will also be hosted in an eco-friendly manner:

  • The firework barges won't require anchoring and will be located far beyond protected marine areas, and carefully located so that rockets do not fall back into vulnerable areas
  • The rockets used come from Europe and are plastic-free (biodegradable cardboard), aluminium-free and chlorine-free
  • The area will be cleaned by a specialist company that will collect any waste for reconditioning or recycling

After the celebrations, the public will have the chance to discover this new eco-neighbourhood from 5 December.
