European Heritage Days at the Oceanographic Museum
2024 Theme: Marine Connections/Sunday 15 September 2024
To mark the 29th European Heritage Days, organised by the Prince's Government Department of Cultural Affairs, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco is placing a spotlight on ‘Marine Connections’.
During discounted* guided tours, visitors will have the chance to discover all about the interconnected nature of the ocean, through an exploration of ocean currents, marine migrations, and Prince Albert I’s ocean expeditions. This captivating and unique itinerary combines the living world with the worlds of art and heritage.
The Oceanographic Museum can attribute its rich cultural and scientific heritage to its founder, Prince Albert I. The museum's dedicated and expert staff are on hand to offer visitors an unprecedented look into the Prince's profound explorations while also, through a selection of historical, artistic, scientific, and technical objects, providing an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the symbiotic relationships that determine the ocean's survival.
In line with the Monaco Oceanographic Museum's centenary mission, these tours will emphasise the vital links between the ocean, humanity, the animal kingdom and the biosphere.

* A generous discount on admission prices is available during the European Heritage Days:
- Adults: €9 (instead of €19)
- Children (4-17 years old included): €6 (instead of €12)

- A maximum of 10 people per session
- Guided tour times: 10.30 am, 1.30 pm, 3.00 pm, 4.30 pm
- Guided tours last: 1h
