CIRQUE

With the Great Jubilee celebrated at the 46th Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival to mark the fiftieth anniversary of its foundation by Prince Rainier III, the Principality of Monaco witnessed some spectacular events. A Grand Parade brought life to the streets, while an Open Air Show was held on Place du Palais to mark this memorable occasion. The 47th Festival, scheduled to run from 17 to 26 January 2025, promises to prolong the magic by bringing together the top circus acts from all over the world.

This is set to be a historic festival, with performances that will push the boundaries of what is possible. Several records are set to be beaten as this outstanding programme unfolds:

  • Some 40 animals will simultaneously parade around the ring, creating one of the greatest animal acts ever seen in the history of the circus
  • The famous bicycle acrobats of China will present a brand new act, showcasing technical prowess in perfect synchronisation, unlike anything seen in the circus ring before
  • One of the best-known clowns of our era, from Chile, will delight the public with his hilarious performances, promising moments of unforgettable laughter
  • The magnificent Akhal-Teke horses from Turkmenistan will dazzle with their beauty and grace, putting on a performance that blends acrobatics on horseback with harmony and elegance
  • Finally, the Mexican trapeze artists will perform some spectacular aerial tricks, executing a quadruple somersault under the dome of the Big Top, an extremely difficult and dangerous feat that is rarely seen
  • No less than 20 further acts, each more impressive than the last, will add extra excitement to the programme. They will include talented young performers from the New Generation competition, who will have the opportunity to test their skills against more experienced artists, adding an extra dimension to this fabulous event

This circus event promises to be every bit the memorable experience, celebrating both the heritage of the past and the promising talent of the future, in a breathtaking setting.
