NEWS RELEASE

This fall, the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs wishes to remind Monaco nationals, residents and people insured by Monaco Social Security Funds of the importance of receiving seasonal flu and Covid-19 shots for those who are vulnerable of developing a serious form of these illnesses.

This joint vaccination campaign is geared towards:

  • People aged 65 and over
  • People under 65 who suffer from certain chronic illnesses
  • Pregnant women
  • People suffering from obesity
  • People in post-treatment or residential medical and social care facilities, regardless of age

Vaccines adapted to the current strains in circulation are now available at pharmacies in the Principality with or without a prescription. People can get vaccinated directly at the pharmacy or obtain the vaccine and contact their general practitioner.

Please note that both vaccines can be injected at the same time (in two locations) or at different times without needing to wait a specific period of time between the two. Regardless, people are encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible, as maximum protection is only possible a few days after the injection. The goal is to protect the population before the winter epidemic arrives.
