New Moods: the revival of an institution on 5 December 2024

The Moods, the reopening of which is eagerly awaited by everyone in Monaco, has been renamed the New Moods.

After its official opening on 30 November, this legendary venue, run by Stéphane Lobono, will open its doors on 5 December at the Place du Casino.

The programme includes live music such as rock, folk and blues, DJ sets, stand-up comedy and finger food from the chefs. This revival is thanks to Stéphane Valeri, CEO of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, and is part of the Group's ongoing efforts to expand its festive offerings in the Principality, particularly during the low season.

The intimate, cosy venue, almost hidden beneath the iconic Café de Paris, has been decorated with warm red and gold tones and soft velvet, with the stage positioned close to the audience. The understated elegant decor is complemented by musical instruments, including the Showster electric guitar, owned by the late Jean-René Palacio, Artistic Director of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer from 1999 to 2021.

New Moods gives centre stage to tribute and cover acts celebrating the legends of pop, rock and blues. It's a festive venue that welcomes all generations and features young talents from near and far, including Fabio Treves Bluesband, the Stincky Fingers and the Beatbox.

For comedy fans, there will be occasional stand-up shows, with Tareek and Hassan de Monaco already lined up for this first season. 

An evening at New Moods:

• From 6.30pm to 8.30pm: after-work music with a DJ set
• From 8.45pm: a live show in two or three segments or stand-up comedy
• From the end of the show until midnight: DJ set

Finger food by Marcel Ravin 

New Moods now offers a finger food menu created by Marcel Ravin, 2 Michelin-starred chef at Blue Bay. We'll be sharing (or not) the brie nougatine with fruit truffles, mendiant with toasted bread, date candies with duck foie gras and curry popcorn, fried smelt and Espelette pepper tartar sauce, prawn fritters with chilli sauce... Marcel's Rochers ‘coconut/peanut passionfruit' rocks, a fresh fruit platter or a pot of homemade ice cream.

At the bar, try our signature cocktails: the New Moods Cuban, Havana 7, Sugar, Lime Juice, Mint leaf, Angostura Biter, Champagne, Rasperry Fool, Gordons Gin, Chambord, Lemon Juice, Egg white, Raspeberry,and Sweet Mexican, Casa migos Reposado, Apricot juice, Lime juice, Sugar, Angostura bitter. And also the famous Havana 3 and Havana 7 rums, and the Clément "Marcel Ravin" rum, created especially for the opening of the Blue Bay Marcel Ravin, with its blend of cocoa, leather and vanilla notes.

A seasonal venue designed to liven up the low season at the Place du Casino, New Moods will be open from 5 December 2024 to 29 March 2025, and then annually from October to the end of March, from Thursday to Saturday, 6pm to midnight.

The magic of New Moods doesn't disappear at closing time: the entire venue is available for private hire outside of the opening hours, for all ages and all kinds of celebrations. Anything is possible at New Moods!
