Events to celebrate St. Devota, patron saint of Monaco, will take place on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 January.

Programme 

FRIDAY 26 JANUARY 2024

10.30 am. Church of St. Devota: mass of the traditions, in Monegasque then Blessing of the Sea.

6.30 pm. Chicane of the F1 Grand Prix: procession of the Relics of Saint Devota.

6.40 pm. Arrival of the boat in the Vallon des Gaumates, followed by blessing of the relics. 
Procession continues to Place Sainte Dévote.

7 pm. Church of St. Devota: Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, presided over by his Grace Dominique-Marie David, Archbishop of Monaco in the presence of His Eminence Cardinal François-Xavier Bustillo, Bishop of Ajaccio.

7.45 pm. Quai Albert I: burning of the symbolic boat by the Royal Family.

8.15 pm. Pyromelodic fireworks display.

SATURDAY 27 JANUARY 2024

10 am. Cathedral of Monaco: Pontifical Mass presided over by His Eminence Cardinal François-Xavier Bustillo, Bishop of Ajaccio.
Following the mass, there will be a Procession of the Relics on the rocher.

6 pm. Cathedral of Monaco: "Tenebrae choir" with the Children's Choir of the Rainier III Academy of Music. This year, the Saint Devota celebrations will be marked by the presence of representatives from the three municipalities twinned with Monaco: Lucciana, Dolceacqua (Italy) and Ostend (Belgium). In the past, the Lucciana and Dolceacqua delegations have taken part together in the celebrations of Monaco's patron saint. The presence of the Ostend delegation this year marks 60 years since Monaco first twinned with the Belgian town in 1964.
