The returnable container scheme is expanding across the Principality!
The returnable container scheme reaches new heights.
Carrefour Monaco is expanding its range of sustainable containers on offer and joining forces with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (FPA2), BeMed (Beyond Plastic Med) and the Mission for Energy Transition (MTE), to reduce packaging.
Several areas of the store* are being dedicated to this roll-out, and to ensure a seamless customer experience, two checkouts (Nos. 22 and 23) are reserved for those using returnable containers.
The chain store aims to reduce waste by encouraging customers to switch from disposable to reusable packaging.
This initiative was devised to tackle the ongoing fight against plastic pollution, which lies at the core of the Prince's Government's “Zero single-use plastic waste by 2030” policy.
The scheme will run for at least three months, kicking off on Wednesday, 5 June, to mark World Environment Day.
Together with 37 other MaConsigne retail partners, the chain store is handing you the reins to make a positive change.
If you're one of the many people against single-use packaging, download the free dedicated app and include MaConsigne in your consumer habits!
*The areas of the store dedicated to this new scheme include the rotisserie, the deli, the salad bar, and the self-service fridge (with ready-made salads).
