Understanding the process
You can hire domestic staff (click here to see the professions concerned) without having to advertise the vacancy first.
You can then send details of the person you wish to employ to the Employment Office.
It is relevant to individuals who employ any of the following employees at their private residence in Monaco: Home-help, driver, cook, domestic employee, chambermaid, cleaner, bodyguard, carer/home nurse, governess, handyman, gardener, linen maid, butler, major-domo, children’s nurse/nanny, ironer or valet.
You can only use this service once you have identified the employee that you would like to hire. If you have not yet done so, you may post a job advertisement using the online service
You must know your employee’s address. In addition, if your employee has previously worked in Monaco, you must know their CCSS number.
Please also bring the following supporting document with you : a photocopy of the employee’s identification or residence permit.
A private individual who wishes to employ one or more employees for household or domestic work must first become affiliated to the Monaco Social Security Funds as an "employer of domestic staff."
The Monaco Social Funds will affiliate private employers on presentation of a Monegasque residence permit or ID card.
