National Housing Aid

National Housing Aid is an allowance which was instituted for individuals of Monegasque nationality who reside in Monaco and who personally occupy a residence as a tenant, regardless of the residential district.

This aid is paid in accordance with income levels, the rent and the level to which the household’s day-to-day needs are met. The conditions for allocating this allowance are listed in the Ministerial Decree no. 2017-743 of 11 October 2017 pertaining to National Housing Aid.

To qualify for housing aid, individuals must send an application to the Housing Department. They must fill out an allowance application and provide all the supporting evidence pertaining to the composition of the household, the household’s means and the proposed lease of the residence.

If their circumstances justify this, people may also request a loan as an advance for certain expenses which must be paid when moving into a new property, such as a deposit or agency fees.

This advance is paid directly to the owner. Under no circumstances shall it be paid to the tenant.

Candidates are always advised to consult the Housing Department before any commitment is made, in order to ensure the eligibility of their candidacy.
