How to apply for a Differential Rent Allowance loan

Individuals who are liable to qualify for a National Housing Aid allowance may receive a loan which is intended to help them obtain a lease, provided that their situation (after examination) proves to justify this loan.

This loan is not therefore automatically granted and must eventually be applied for before any commitment is made or any tenancy agreement is signed.

The Differential Rent Allowance loan covers the deposit, and, if necessary, the agency fee. The amount granted is calculated on the basis of rent which is payable for housing which would satisfy the normal needs of a household. It is also calculated bearing in mind the ceiling for the normal needs of a household.

The Differential Rent Allowance loan is granted at a rate of 1% per year. It can be repaid over a period of three years. The loan is repaid by reductions from the Differential Rent Allowance paid to the loan recipient. The conditions are expressed in an acknowledgement of debt which is signed when the loan is accepted.

In addition to the documentary evidence concerning the property which is being leased and the financial documents to be produced for the examination of the application, a form must also be filled out:
