Understanding the process
Principle
The Institute is responsible for preparing candidates for the competitive examination for access to the magistracy or the bar exam:
- For this first year, no registration fee is required
- The teaching courses for preparing for the next examination for the profession of lawyer, which will be held at the end of 2021, will start on 17 May 2021
- The preparative courses for the magistrates' examination, which will take place in October 2022 for the written tests and November 2022 for the oral tests, will start at the beginning of the next 2021-2022 academic year
- A partnership agreement with the University of the Côte d'Azur enables candidates who are registered at the training institute to follow, as guest students, courses held in conjunction with the Masters 2 in Basic Private Law and Human and Criminal Sciences, as well as courses held in conjunction with the Institute of Legal Studies
- They will also be able to benefit from specific courses given by law professors, magistrates or lawyers
- They will also benefit from training sessions to familiarise them with judicial practice through the study of practical cases and oral simulations
Conditions
Persons of Monegasque nationality who meet the conditions of Article 28 of Act. No. 1.364 at the time of the examination following the requested training course may apply for enrolment in the preparatory courses for the competitive examination for access to the magistracy or the bar exam.

In addition to the application form, duly completed, you must provide:
- A certificate of nationality
- A birth certificate
- A copy of criminal record
- A copy of the diploma obtained
- A civil responsibility insurance statement
