A duplicate of your residence permit can be issued to you if your current one is lost or stolen. It will have the same expiry date as your current card.
Understanding the process
If your residence permit has been lost or stolen, you can request a duplicate. An issuing fee is payable (80€).
Before submitting your request via the special online service, please make sure you have the following documents:
- A passport or a valid identity card
- If you are not the owner or tenant of your accommodation: a Certificate of Accommodation issued by the Monaco Police Department, to be completed by the person providing the accommodation, which can be downloaded here:
- Sworn declaration signed by the applicant (residence permit holder), which can be downloaded here:
- If you are requesting a duplicate following the theft of your permit: crime report or certificate of theft (translated into French if necessary)
- Most recent energy bill (electricity or gas)
Before applying for your residence permit via the special online service, please make sure you have the single form which can be downloaded here:
Once you have collated the supporting documents listed in the previous step in digital format, please submit your application using the special online service by clicking on the button below.

After your request has been received, the Residency Section will notify you by email and/or SMS. You will receive a link allowing you to make an appointment on the dedicated platform.
Issuance duties for the residence permit are paid when the document is delivered.
Please do not send a cheque in the post.
If you would like to activate your digital identity on your new permit, you can do this during this appointment on our premises, with a staff member.

How do I submit my application?
Once the form has been duly completed, it must be accompanied by copies of the requested documents, which together make up your permit application file.

The card is issued on the Residency Section offices.
Once your application has been processed and validated, we will send you a letter detailing the appointment arrangements.
An individual appointment to register and issue the card will be arranged by the Residency Section.
The fee for issuing the residence permit is to be paid upon issue.
If you wish to activate digital identity access on your card, you can do so when you receive it or, at the designated counter, on a later date.
