Any adult resident in Monaco who has been granted disability status may be entitled to the disability allowance for adults, subject to means testing, and providing they are no longer eligible for the special education allowance.
Understanding the process
Any adult resident in Monaco who has been granted disability status may be entitled to the disability allowance for adults, subject to means testing, and providing they are no longer eligible for the special education allowance.
This allowance may be paid in full (85% of the minimum reference salary set annually by Ministerial Decree) or as a differential of other resources.
It is paid monthly up to the age of 60 and may be supplemented by further allowances to enable the disability compensation plan to be implemented.
In addition, service tickets are issued quarterly and a booklet of concessionary tickets for shows in the Principality is issued annually.
The conditions for awarding the allowance and the methods for calculating the maximum entitlement are set annually by the Ministerial Decree No. 2015-380 of 8 June 2015.
To be eligible for this allowance you must:
- Be granted disability status
- Be resident in Monaco
- Be below the income threshold
After notification that you have been granted disability status, the Financial Social Support Office of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Services will contact you to carry out your means test.
