Understanding the process
A father, mother or the person who has the effective and permanent care of a child of Monegasque nationality or who is likely to acquire it by declaration, who does not receive either a family allowance or a compensatory family allowance from a Monegasque or foreign family benefits body, may benefit, depending on their means, from the subsidiary compensatory family allowance.
The monthly allowance is paid as a lump sum. It is paid quarterly in arrears.

- Monthly amount of maintenance payments received by or paid to the ex-spouse for separated or divorced persons
- If applicable, a Sworn Statement certifying that they are not carrying out any paid work, issued by the spouse or by the person sharing married life with the applicant
- Proof of any income other than professional income received over the last twelve months
- Photocopy of the identity card or residence permit of the applicant and members of the household
- A full copy of the birth certificate and a school attendance certificate from a public or private school for each child for whom the allowance is requested, if he or she is at school
- A bank account details for the parent chosen as recipient of the payment
- The legal separation order or divorce decree for separated or divorced persons

- Certificate of income from securities and movable assets for each person over 18 living in the household (including students) for the previous calendar year, issued by the bank(s) or post office where the account(s) is/are held
- The Department of Social Welfare and Social Services may also request that all supplementary supporting documents be produced to enable verification that the conditions of entitlement to subsidiary compensatory family allowance are being respected.
In order to verify the truth of the statements made by the applicant for subsidiary compensatory family allowance, in respect of their family, personal, professional, financial or residential situation, the DASO may require all the supplementary documents that can help clarify the reality of the situation.
The application should be submitted to the Department of Social Welfare and Social Services (DASO).
