Understanding the process
Any elderly person of Monegasque nationality, and foreign national residing in the Principality on a stable or regular basis for at least five years at the time their application is made, may request social aid for accommodation, if they have insufficient resources, after deduction of their personal contribution and that of those who bear filial responsibility for them.
This allowance is subject to recovery from the beneficiary’s estate for a period of five years.
- A copy of the identity card or residence permit of the applicant
- A residence certificate
- Applicant's family civil status form or a copy of family record booklet
- A statement showing the amount of funds of any kind received by the applicant and their spouse over the past twelve months or a sworn statement stating that they have no funds
- A copy of any proof of funds
- Proof of the applicant and their spouse’s expenditure for the last 12 months
- A certificate drawn up by the elderly person summarising each bank account they hold in each banking establishment
- Certificate of income from securities and movable assets for each person over 18 living in the household (including students) for the previous calendar year, issued by the bank(s) or post office where the account(s) is/are held
- The last statement from a life insurance agreement, if applicable
- Certificates of property drawn up by the notary, if applicable
- The last statement from statement from a funeral plan, if applicable
- A copy of the judgment giving legal protection to the applicant and their spouse and of the amount of annual taxation allocated to the legal administrator
- The form "recovery from the estate" completed, dated and signed
The Director of Social Welfare and Social may also request that all supplementary supporting documents be produced to enable verification that the conditions of entitlement to social aid for accommodation are being respected.
After the dossier is accepted, social aid for accommodation is paid directly to the establishment providing accommodation for elderly dependent people.
