Those who receive a pension from the Princess Grace Hospital retirement scheme, who are Monegasque or foreign nationals permanently and effectively resident in the Principality, may apply for the supplementary residency allowance subject to means testing and provided they have worked at CHPG for at least 15 years.
Understanding the process
The amount of the allowance is set at 30% of the direct pension up to the ceiling for the "green category" for retired persons with more than 25 years’ service at Princess Grace Hospital.
Two fixed allowances may also be paid depending on years of service:
- One to retired persons with between 15 and 20 years’ service at Princess Grace Hospital
- Another to retired persons with between 20 and 25 years’ service at Princess Grace Hospital

To collate your application for the Minimum Income, please gather the documents listed below:
- A copy of the identity card or Residence Permit
- A photocopy of the CHPG pension certificate issued upon retirement
- Bank or Post Office account details
- The last rent receipt
- The last electricity bill or deed of ownership
- Pension paid by the CHPG
- The certificate issued by the Department of Social Welfare and Social Services duly completed
Once you have compiled all the supporting documents and completed the application form, submit the file to the Department of Social Welfare and Social Services.
