Principle

Osteoporosis is defined as a decrease in bone mass, which can lead to increased bone fragility and a greater risk of fractures (of the hip, vertebrae or wrists).

This condition affects women in 90% of cases.

Who it concerns

If you are aged between 55 and 80, this screening is relevant to you.

You will be sent a letter inviting you for a bone densitometry test.

What you should do

  1. You should contact the Monaco Medical Imaging Centre on 92 05 76 00 (11, rue du Gabian à Fontvieille) to arrange an appointment for a bone densitometry test (BMD test) at a time convenient to you
  2. Once you have fixed a date for this examination (BMD test), inform the administrative office of the Monaco Health Screening Centre on 97 98 83 02 as soon as possible to follow up with a consultation with Dr. BROCQ (Rheumatology) at the Princess Grace Hospital

For more information, please see: Screening for osteoporosis

The bone densitometry test is free.
