If you need to drive abroad, you must have an international driving licence in addition to your national driving licence, regardless of the countries concerned.
Understanding the process
This licence is an official translation of your Monegasque driving licence. You must request it before leaving the Principality.
In the event of an inspection, you must present your international driving licence and a valid Monegasque driving licence.
Your international driving licence is fully linked to your national driving licence.
If your national driving licence was issued before 15 June 2015, you will be issued with a new licence that complies with the current version along with your international driving licence.
International driving licences are valid for three years.
There is a fee associated with this service - Please see
