List of processing operations

Treatment of patients in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (patient records held by healthcare professionals at the Government’s Department of Health Affairs)

In accordance with the regulations in force in the Principality of Monaco on protecting personal data, the information gathered in the course of "Treatment of patients in the context of the SARS-CoV-2" virus is collected by medical inspectors working for the Monaco Department of Health Affairs (DASA) (Data Controller), whose purpose is to individually monitor patients in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 virus to create, for each patient treated at a centre operated by the Government, a medical record that enables their health to be monitored by DASA healthcare professionals.

This processing is justified by the need to comply with a legal obligation in accordance with Sovereign Ordinance No. 8.337 of 05 November 2020 pertaining to personal health data produced or received by healthcare professionals and facilities

The information processed as part of the medical record is intended solely for authorised healthcare professionals working for the Government and Princess Grace Hospital, as well as Administration staff who have a duty of confidentiality. The information is never communicated to third parties.

This information is held in accordance with the applicable regulations, i.e. for 20 years from the last consultation with the patient, as set out in Article 8 of Sovereign Ordinance No. 8.337 of 05 November 2020 pertaining to personal health data produced or received by healthcare professionals and facilities

The information collected as part of the patient’s medical record to monitor their individual treatment for COVID-19 comes from information gathered in the course of "Monitoring the epidemiological situation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the Principality", implemented by the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, in accordance with the Ministerial Decision of 1 July 2021 amended the Ministerial Decision of 20 May 2020 on the processing of personal data to allow monitoring of the epidemiological situation, intended to implement Article 65 of Sovereign Ordinance No. 6.387 of 9 May 2017 on implementation of the International Health Regulations (2005) with a view to controlling the international spread of disease.

In accordance with the legislation that applies in the Principality of Monaco, with regard to their personal data, each patient has the right to access personal data relating to them, and the right to request that inaccurate, incomplete or outdated data is corrected, updated or removed.

Individuals who have exercised their rights but feel, after contacting the Government, that their rights have not been respected, can submit a complaint to the Data Protection Authority of Monaco (Commission de Contrôle des Informations Nominatives-CCINN): www.ccin.mc.
