Processing: "Managing and monitoring the entry and residency conditions of foreign residents in the Principality"

As part of the management of the residency status of foreign residents in the Principality of Monaco, the Residency Section of the Police Department in the State of Monaco implements the processing of personal data for the purpose of “Managing and monitoring the entry and residency conditions of foreign residents in the Principality”.

The processing falls within the remit of the Residency Section - Police Department and is carried out for reasons of public interest and a legal obligation, in accordance with the following legislation: 

The information collected in the context of processing originates from the data subject when he/she makes a request to the Police Department including via online services to apply for a residence permit or renewing a residence permit or requestiong a duplicate, notifying a change in your circumstances or requesting a residence certificate.

The information provided on the paper form or via the online services is required to assess applications.

The only recipients of this information are the authorised staff of the Police Department and the Monegasque Financial Security Authority within the scope of their duties in accordance with the provisions of the Act no. 1.362 of 3 August 2009 pertaining to the fight against money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and corruption.

In accordance with the applicable provisions on protecting personal data in the Principality of Monaco, Data subjects have a right of access to their personal data and the right to request that inaccurate, incomplete or outdated data be corrected, updated or deleted. To exercise their rights individuals may make a written request, stating the subject of the request and including their surname, first name, and date of birth by post, to the following address:

To ensure that the response remains confidential and that we are replying only to the person whose data is involved, those submitting requests may be asked to provide proof of their identity, in black and white.

Individuals who have exercised their rights but feel, after contacting the Administration, that their rights have not been respected, can submit a complaint to the Data Protection Authority of Monaco (Commission de Contrôle des Informations Nominatives - CCINN): www.ccin.mc
