Action against illegal fishing: a compulsory annual declaration for angling comes into force
In response to a rise in illegal recreational fishing, the Prince's Government has introduced a new measure: the "Annual angling Declaration"
Now, anyone wishing to fish in Monegasque waters will have to complete this declaration.
There are 3 ways to obtain the declaration:
- From the Prince's Government website, via the Mon Service Public (Public Service for Individuals) portal: monservicepublic.gouv.mc
- Upon request via email to marine@gouv.mc
- Directly from the Department of Maritime Affairs, located at 20, Quai de l'Hirondelle, Monaco, open to the public from 9.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
This declaration is quick and easy to complete and is valid for one year. It is used to identify anglers (adults or children) and to ensure that they fish only in authorised areas.
The declarant will also receive a nautical chart of these areas and the Code of Conduct, to ensure that they are aware of the regulations in force.
