NEWS RELEASE

Tuesday 15 October is "The second Caregivers Day", from 2.30 to 4.30 pm at the Rainier III Clinical Gerontology Centre.

Come meet professionals in the field of geriatrics at Princess Grace Hospital at a variety of stands and hands-on workshops: an occupational therapist, nurse, psychologist, physician, physiotherapist, speech therapist, social worker and a variety of associations will be on site to answer all your questions.

Being a caregiver involves providing regular and frequent assistance to a person who has become dependent as a result of age, illness or a disability, so that he or she can perform all or some of their day-to-day activities. In some cases, it can even mean living and helping in close quarters with the dependent person, which leaves little time to take care of one’s own well-being.

Taking care of a parent, spouse or friend is a daily commitment that often goes unnoticed but is nevertheless essential for the person you care for. It demands time and energy and can be a source of stress and self-effacement.

If you are a professional or informal caregiver and you feel you need information, advice and support to best support your vulnerable loved one, this day is for you!
