Opening of the Wurtemberg footbridge
The Wurtemberg footbridge, an architecturally remarkable metal structure 65 metres long and 2 metres wide, is now open to users.
Located at the bottom of Avenue Pasteur, this key element of the mobility plan to promote pedestrian travel provides access to the Fontvieille district via two lifts that also serve the Promenade Honoré II, the future access to the new colleague centre and the various units of the Pasteur block, as well as the Wurtemberg car park, which is due to open shortly.
With this project, the whole of the west of the Principality can be accessed without the need for a car, from the upper entrance to the Principality to Fontvieille.
From the Car Park des Salines, which unveiled its 1,800 low-cost parking spaces at the western entrance to the Principality last April, all you have to do to get to Fontvieille is take the Salines pedestrian gallery and then the Wurtemberg footbridge.
The mobility plan is gradually being rolled out to relieve urban traffic congestion, encourage soft mobility and offer alternatives to individual vehicles, so that everyone can adopt the solutions that suit them best.
