Warning! Fraudulent phone calls !
Currently, many residents of the Principality of Monaco are the recipients of fraudulent phone calls from foreign numbers, often displayed as "unknown number", making it difficult to trace.
This is a malicious telephone call campaign designed to defraud potential victims who respond positively to the caller's solicitations. Over the last 48 hours, some 1,500 malicious telephone calls have been made to more than 600 telephone lines in Monaco.

The scammers mainly call elderly people, claiming to be police officers or lawyers, and tell them that a member of their family has been involved in a serious road accident.
They ask for large sums of money (cash, jewellery, etc) to help them.
Recipients of such calls are asked to:
- IGNORE THE CALL
- REFUSE TO COMPLY WITH THE CALLER’S REQUEST
- BLOCK THE TELEPHONE NUMBER
- DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT (+377 93 15 30 15)
