How to sign an online document electronically using MConnect

This online service enables you to sign, and ask others to sign, digital documents with the same legal standing as an original document signed by hand.

You can use it to upload your document securely via the service and send it to other signatories who have an activated Monegasque digital identity.

Please note: this service is only available to users who have activated the digital identityon their residence permit or Monegasque identity card.

You can use your card reader to verify your identity from your computer.

You will be given the required card reader when you are issued with the Monegasque identity card or residence permit on which you have activated the digital identity. 

To verify your identity from your computer, you will need: 

• Your Monegasque identity card or residence permit
• The five-digit PIN you chose when you activated your digital identity
• The card reader (which you were given when you collected your card) or a compatible reader
• A computer on which the Smart Card Managercard reader software has been installed (installation takes just a few seconds). It must be installed to enable your PC to read your card

Then you need to:

1. Connect your card reader to a USB port and insert the card
2. Access your desired online service and log in using MConnect to verify your identity
3. If necessary, tick the box that says "I agree to share the following information: Birth name, first names, preferred name, date of birth, type, hour of birth, place of birth"
4. Enter your PIN (the one you chose when you activated your identity)

To sign a document, you will need to:

• Upload the PDF document and give it a name
• Choose the number of signatories to the document (up to 9 third-party signatories)
  • If there is just one signatory:
    • View the document before signing it
    • Sign the document by entering your PIN (card identification)
    • Download the electronically signed document
  • If there are several signatories: please note that all signatories involved must be in possession of a valid Monegasque digital identity
    • Once the number of third-party signatories has been determined, the online service provides access to a unique link which should be sent to the other signatories and an access code that will enable them to sign the document in turn
    • The other parties access the document using the link and add their electronic signature by entering their PIN
    • All signatories must add their signature before the signature process can be completed and the document can be considered valid with all required signatures
    • You can then download the electronically signed document

The online service also allows you to access, via a special tab, the list of documents to be signed or which have already been signed.
