Requests can be filed via the online service between 1 June 2023 and 29 March 2024.
If your training begins between the last Friday in March and the beginning of June (start of next season), please send an email to the following address: denjs@gouv.mc so that the date of filing your social advancement grant can be taken into account.
Understanding the process
Social advancement grants are aimed at adults under 50 who want to make progress in their profession, return to study in their area of speciality or to retrain for a new profession.
This type of grant is regulated by
and concerns the same categories of beneficiaries.Candidates who are civil servants or Government officials must also apply for financial help from the Human Resources and Training Department. They will only be eligible for a social advancement grant if the said Department gives an unfavourable reply.
The request for a social advancement grant should be addressed to the Department of Education, Youth and Sport before the start of the training course for which this assistance is requested
Applications are processed in date order of registration, provided that the documents provided can be evaluated.
The application may be sent incomplete at first, but all documents must be submitted to finalise the processing of the application.
The missing documents must be provided before 2pm on the last Friday of March of the academic year of the application. Any application, after this date will be cancelled. No payment will be made.

To submit your application, please use the dedicated online service by clicking here. You may submit an incomplete application initially, but you will still need to provide all of the necessary documents to process your application. For applicants without online access or who do not wish to use a computer, the paper form is still available and can be collected from the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, or by sending a request to denjs@gouv.mc
You must provide a proof stating any additional income that you have received (securities and income from investments, bank interest, etc.) between January and December of the past year (or a declaration of non-receipt, according to the model provided). Please note: a declaration must be provided for each person over the age of 18 who is living in the household (including students).
You must also provide financial supporting documents corresponding to the situation of the members of the family for the past year:
Your request for a social promotion grant must be accompanied by:
- Your curriculum vitae
- Any document giving proof of the applicant's professional activity and the length of time it has lasted (since the initial studies were interrupted)
You must provide different supporting documents, depending on your situation:
- A certificate or attestation of enrolment or admission issued by the institution where the applicant is studying, indicating the course of study and the level of study required for the application (e.g. enrolment certificate for Anglo-Saxon institutions)
- The applicant's school attendance certificate issued by the institution where the studies are being undertaken, indicating the course and level of study for the year of application, is required to finalise the application (school certificate for Anglo-Saxon institutions)
- For applicants enrolled at engineering schools, (including preparatory courses) political studies institutes and commercial schools (unless the diploma is certified by the French or Monegasque State): an invoice for tuition fees for the academic year of application only
- A copy of transcripts and/or diplomas, certificates of achievement obtained in the years preceding the application (A Levels, bachelor's, master's degree, etc.)
- In the case of student accommodation: a copy of the lease signed by the landlord(s) and by the tenant(s), together with a receipt for the accommodation fees dated from September of the academic year of the application, or, if applicable, a tenancy agreement stating tenancy dates
- In the case of vocational education and training: a copy of the apprenticeship or professionnalisation contract (work-study), validated by the Department of Employment if the apprenticeship is carried out in the Principality, or approved by the Regional Directorates for the Economy, Employment, Labour and Solidarity (DREETS-DDETS) if the apprenticeship is carried out in France
- In the case of work-study training conducted outside the Principality of Monaco: a certificate from the host organisation stating whether registration fees have been covered or not
- An extract from the applicant's birth certificate, for new applicants only
- Applicant's certificate of nationality, for new applicants only
- Bank account details (IBAN) of the applicant if over 18 years old during the academic year of the application, or of their legal representative in the case of minors
- Supporting evidence issued by the establishment certifying the starting date of the training course
- A certificate or attestation of enrolment or admission issued by the institution where the applicant is studying, indicating the course of study and the level of study required for the application (e.g. enrolment certificate for Anglo-Saxon institutions)

Candidates' attention is drawn to the fact that no further applications will be considered after the start of the training course for which this assistance is requested.
