Principle
The Monegasque residence permit allows nationals of countries outside the Schengen area to travel to, from and within the Schengen area without a short-stay visa, subject to the following conditions:
- Within the Schengen Area: you need to have your passport and your valid residence permit, which serves as your short-stay visa
- Outside the Schengen Area: you need to have your valid passport and you must check the entry requirements of the destination country
Important: You will need your passport and your valid residence permit, which serves as your short-stay visa, to return to Monaco.
- Within the Schengen Area: you need to have your passport or your valid identity card, which serves as your short-stay visa
- Outside the Schengen Area: you need to have your valid passport and you must check the entry requirements of the destination country
Important: Before travelling abroad, it is your responsibility to check that the details on your residence permit are valid and correct. Travelling with an expired residence permit could jeopardise your trip or prevent you from returning to Monegasque territory.
