This special education allowance concerns anyone who is responsible for the care of a minor, when this minor has been recognised as having a disability by the Disability Evaluation Committee.
Understanding the process
It may also be paid as a supplement to family allowances.
The amounts of the allowance and any such supplements are at a fixed rate and are set by Ministerial Decree.
These benefits are paid monthly.
To obtain this allowance, you must:
- Be resident in Monaco
- Prepare a file for the Disability Evaluation Committee of the Social Inclusion and Disability Office, located at 23 Avenue Albert II on the 2nd, floor, which will estimate the level of disability
- Look after a child with disabilities whose level of permanent incapacity is 50% or more
To request the special education allowance, you should contact the Department of Health and Social Affairs.
A Committee for evaluation and special education will decide upon the level of incapacity of a minor affected by a physical, sensory or mental disability and will state whether his or her state or level of incapacity justifies the allocation of the special education allowance or a complementary allowance.
