Changes to the interior and exterior fittings and layout of state-owned property are subject to prior authorisation from the State Property Authority.
Understanding the process
You may not make any adjustments to fixtures or any changes to the interior and exterior fittings of your state housing without previous permission from the State Property Authority.

In order to install air conditioning in your state housing you must:
- Complete the form below,specifying the brand, the type and the dimensions of the external air conditioning unit as well as all the technical features (decibels, power etc.)
- Send the completed form and a photo of the location where the external unit will be installed as well as a site plan to the State Property Authority
The applications will be examined by the various services concerned and you will be notified in writing of the approval or refusal of your installation.
In order to install blinds in your state housing, you must send a letter applying for permission to attach drop blinds or awnings to the State Property Authority. You must also ask for the RAL (colour reference), the brand and the model and detail these in your letter.
For all works which need to be completed in a state apartment, you must write to the State Property Authority and describe the planned works exactly in order to receive permission.
All works which change the layout of properties (for example moving a door, demolition of dividing walls etc.) are subject to a building application to be prepared by a Principality approved architect and submitted to the State Property Authority.
